Privacy Policy

How Choreze handles family information.

This policy explains what Choreze collects, how we use it, and the choices families have when using the app.

Effective Date: May 9, 2026

Information We Collect

Account details such as names, email addresses, phone numbers when provided, passwords, roles, family membership, and profile preferences.

Family and chore information such as child profiles, birthdays when provided, chore titles, schedules, assignments, reward amounts, completion status, comments, reports, and household settings.

Photos and attachments that you upload for chore proof, chore setup, or review. These may include room or chore photos that help Choreze create or verify chores.

Notification and communication details such as email, SMS, contact-verification status, notification preferences, and delivery records.

Technical information such as log data, device and browser details, IP address, authentication events, and basic usage activity needed to operate and protect the service.

How We Use Information

We use your information to create and manage family accounts, assign and review chores, track progress, calculate reward balances, send notifications, and keep family members in the right role-based views.

We use uploaded photos and chore descriptions to support chore review, chore creation, and optional Spark-assisted features. Spark is used to make suggestions or highlight unclear proof; parents remain responsible for final decisions.

We use contact information to sign you in, verify account changes, send invitations or magic links, deliver notifications, respond to support requests, and protect the service from abuse.

We use technical and usage information to troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, prevent unauthorized access, and understand which parts of Choreze need attention.

How Information Is Shared

Family information is shared with other members of the same family according to their role. For example, parents can view and manage child profiles, chores, submissions, reports, and reward information.

We share information with service providers that help us run Choreze, such as hosting, database, file storage, email, SMS, Spark processing, error monitoring, and security providers. They are allowed to use the information only to provide services to Choreze.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

We do not sell personal information.

Children and Family Accounts

Choreze is designed for families. Parents or guardians create and manage family spaces and child profiles. Children may use Choreze only with permission from a parent or guardian who controls the family account.

Parents can review child profile details, manage assignments, approve or reject chore submissions, generate child magic links, and adjust family settings.

If you believe a child has provided information without parent or guardian permission, contact us so we can review and remove it when appropriate.

Photos, Spark Features, and Sensitive Content

Only upload photos and descriptions that are appropriate for chore planning or chore verification. Avoid including private documents, financial details, medical information, or other sensitive content in chore photos or comments.

When Spark-assisted features are enabled, uploaded content or descriptions may be sent to Spark service providers to generate chore suggestions, review guidance, or encouragement. Spark output can be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed by a parent or guardian.

Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Choreze, maintain family records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Parents can update or remove many family details from within the app. Some records may remain in backups, logs, or audit history for a limited period before deletion.

If you want to request account deletion or removal of personal information that is not available in the app, contact us at privacy@choreze.com.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access, role-based views, encrypted transport, and controlled storage access.

No internet service is perfectly secure. Please use strong passwords, keep magic links private, and contact us if you believe your account or family space has been accessed without permission.

Your Choices

You can update account and profile details in Choreze, change notification preferences, remove optional contact details, and manage family members according to your role.

You can stop receiving nonessential notifications by changing your preferences or using unsubscribe options where available. We may still send service, security, verification, and account messages.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information by contacting privacy@choreze.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Choreze changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by posting a notice in the app or sending a message to account contacts.

The effective date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last updated.
